Position Summary
Clade seeks a highly motivated individual to join our growing Immunology team in Cambridge, MA. The successful candidate will have demonstrated bench experience in immune cell biology. This individual will join a team of scientists to engineer and characterize novel immune cell therapies derived from induced Pluripotent Stem Cells (iPSC) for the treatment of cancer and other diseases. Specific responsibilities will be to develop, execute and analyze various immune and molecular assays, including flow cytometry assays, MLR, co-culture and complement assays, qPCR and western blot assays. Responsibilities
- Develop and qualify a suite of immunological assays with technical rigor and consistency.
- Work closely with scientists to perform experiments for proof of concept (PoC) studies, in vitro and in vivo.
- Isolate and culture primary and engineered human immune cells.
- Characterize immune cells by multicolor flow cytometry and assess their functions using cell-based and molecular assays.
- Characterize cells using standard immunological assays including multicolor flow cytometry and assess their functions using cell-based and molecular assays (e.g., cytotoxicity, gene expression, etc.).
- Generate, collect, and analyze data. Effectively communicate results to peers and management.
- Proactively recognize and solve technical and scientific issues to assure high quality data.
- Document experimental data in electronic laboratory notebooks in a timely and accurate manner in accordance with company standards.
- Regularly collaborate with team members (and occasionally with external partners) to advance the Company’s immunology programs.
- Attend and actively participate to the scientific discussion at laboratory team meetings. Effectively present data and other scientific information to colleagues.
- Collaborate, and contribute as needed, with colleagues in the Company’s efforts to secure IP resulting from research discoveries.
- Perform other duties, as assigned.
Qualifications
- We have the flexibility to hire an entry level Scientist or Principal Research Associate, dependent upon education and work experience. We would anticipate that the successful candidate would have earned a PhD or BS / MS degree in Immunology /related discipline with commensurate years of experience in a discovery research lab setting.
- Hands-on experience with mammalian cell culture, such as primary immune cells is required.
- Proficient skills with multicolor flow cytometry is required.
- Experience with cell-based functional assays, including MLR, cytotoxicity, and complement assays is desired.
- Highly organized and collaborative work style; ability to maintain detailed documentation in an electronic lab notebook.
- Demonstrated ability to work and think independently in a results-oriented research environment.
- An equivalent combination of education and experience may be accepted as a satisfactory substitute for the specific education and experience listed above.
